Perception is the nest we live in

A few years ago, I did Soul Art School with Canadian creative artist Laura Hollick. Not because I am an artist, because it was a year-long deep dive into living from your soul. I got so much out it and am forever grateful. Laura is pure spiritual essence.
This is an excerpt from her recent blog. (https://www.laurahollick.com/2025/07/my-daily-devotion-creative-practice/)
"Your perception is the nest you live in.
The way we see things gives meaning to them, and ultimately shapes our experience. If I want to open myself to my next chapter, I have to open myself to new ways of seeing.
I realize how much of my perception is tied to past ideas, past successes, past failures, past shame, past issues, and past dreams. To move forward, my perception needs to grow.
I am opening myself to see in new ways."
AMEN. Our perception is indeed the nest we live in, the lens we see all things. We often think our perception is the hard and fast truth. I have learned over the years how much perception is indeed tied to the past. And we can free ourselves to see with new eyes, to see from heart and not old hurts, old programming, old life with blinders on.
We can feather our nest with new awareness. And watch as we take flight anew.
Much love,
Kelly
PS - Today is July 13, 2025. I have been reminded by several people that FORTY years ago, July 13, 1985, was the Live Aid Concert in London for famine relief. I was there. And I still have the t-shirt. Over the years (FORTY!) I have written about that experience. I cannot find those blogs at the moment. I will reflect again per persistent request, but that will not come today. For now, I am in humble gratitude. And am in awe of how quickly forty years have flowed.
See you soon:
Wed, July 16, 7-8:30pm SoulFlow Ecstatic Dance & Movement, Womanspace w/Vanessa V
Friday, July 25, 6-8pm, Drum Circle with Emily at Inscape Collective
