What brings me joy this week

From late 2008 until 2021 sometime, I sent an email newsletter, my JOY LETTER, every single Friday. It started when I was life coaching and continued when I morphed into book coaching and kept going when I circled back to spiritual coaching. No matter what my work was, I always sent upbeat inspiration every week.
Then I retired.
And here I am again.
These email missives are not every Friday like clockwork but maybe will become so again, who knows. I just got an email from a powerhouse biz/life coach gal who sends a newsletter every Friday -- and she is now going to focus on what is bringing her JOY.
Well, ain’t that a thing!
I still have PRINTED COPIES IN BINDERS of all my newsletters from the past. Quite effervescent! And some quite lengthy. And they still bring me joy.
Today, I will be succinct. (Yeah, right!)
What brings me joy this week:
· Savory Scones and Chocolate Chip cookies from La Croute bakery in Rockton
· Cupcakes from Wicked Sweets bakery in Rockton
· ALL the things from Whisk & Spoon bakery in Roscoe
· Visits from old friends
· Walks in my neighborhood
MORE joy -- Attempting to revamp our website, impressing myself with the I CAN DO THIS feeling is joy. Then it all goes wonky and things disappear and it does not even show up on mobile (and 80% look at websites on their phones) and everything is much worse than before I started. I stop. I breathe. I think: Even with no website, life goes on. Even if the website never happens, even if Facebook and Eventbrite all fell away, whoever is meant to find us will find us. Things work out. Being able to stay calm was big joy.
Will I attempt web changes again, sure. But I didn’t despair. I didn’t throw my laptop against the wall. I did not swear.
That is the power of meditation. (JOY! and shameless plug!) At Meditation Made Easy class last week at our local college, a fella asked if meditation has an ingrained effect the more you do it. YEP.
I do not get mad if someone cuts me off in traffic, if the checkout line is long and slow, and if my website crashes. Previous versions of me used to get quite upset about all kinds of things.
SO. I have decided to do a MEDITATION MADE EASY class for all, not just for our local college folks. (And yes, I will most likely record a zoom version for those who are not local.)
Teaching is still a joy.
Tuesday, April 21 6:30pm MEDITATION MADE EASY for practical simple ways to cool your jets and find the inner peace.
Also another joy for me is sound healing (the other thing that helps me not be frazzled and crabby). We will keep having sound events.
The next one is: SOUND BATH April 16, a Thursday, at 6:30pm.
And save the date: Wednesday, April 29 for a special sound something with special guest Emily Bledsoe Holloway.
Writing these notes brings me joy. What brings YOU joy? Let me know!
Much love,
XX Kelly
