Let me burn with peace
Bonjour! Hello! Hola! Ciao! Aloha! Hallo! Well wishes to you in all the languages!
My last missive included the meditation message with "Just for today, I will...." There were several lines of what I declare just for today. Inevitably someone asks why "just for today?"
Because it's easier for our mind and ego to accept that just for today, I will let go of trying to control. Just for today, I release judgment. Just for today, I know that I am loved. "Just for today" lays a foundation.
If I make broad blanket statements, the body and brain may bristle and reject the sentiments. For some people, to proclaim I believe in magic and miracles is too much of a leap. But if I say JUST FOR TODAY, I believe in magic and miracles, the old reigning belief system can relax and say oh, okay, it's just for today. We can handle that. But anything more, nope.
So when you affirm these statements every day, in "just for today" small bites, little by little, over time, your system can accept and internalize. Then you really can say flat out, without the ease-in "just for today," I listen to my soul. I walk in love. I relax and trust.
Did I always dwell in gratitude? No. Now I do, but there was a time when "JUST FOR TODAY, I dwell in gratitude" was what I needed. The "just for today" is a great way to open the door to being able to integrate and allow a new way of being to take hold.

Mid-September already. Today gave us all the early fall weather patterns in one glorious day. I love the fall so so so muchly. Always feels magical to me. I enjoyed my mellow summer tremendously, and I tingle with anticipation of all the autumn beauty.
One day at a time. I take it in and savor it.
What brings me joy lately:
* Cleaning (for real)
* Taking stuff to donation places (always)
* And coming across this short piece of a peace poem:
I can’t force peace on the world
but I can become a force of peace in the world
because
sometimes
all it takes
is a single lit candle
in the darkness
to start a movement
oh, Spirit,
let me be a candle
of comfort in this world
let me burn with peace
