Inhale. Exhale longer.

Hello luvs! Welcome to the present moment. Right here, right now.
Take a breath with me. Feel the lifeforce energy come into your body. Feel it expand your lungs and rib cage. Feel a long slow exhale. Notice how your body feels now.
That long slow exhale (longer than your inhale) signals your brain that you are safe. The body’s internal system is wired to respond to that long slow exhale. You can physically feel your nervous system calm down a bit.
Amen and hallelujah.
Doing things with/for the body helps the whole of us. The body holds a jumble of emotions and thoughts, and those thoughts are not always kind. Or true. But we have let them have their way for so long. To now realize we can change our state in an instant may seem a little improbable.
Yet it is indeed probable. And provable. Science proves it, but all you need to do is show yourself.
Join me again. Inhale for a count of four. Exhale for a count of eight. Feel anything? A bit of calm entered? A bit of stress went bye-bye?
One more time.
Now go about your day. Remember this simple tool whenever you feel yourself tense up.
Simple tools. That is all we need.
A breath. A stretch. A kind word. A smile. A walk outside. A song. A piece of poetry. A stroke of the paint brush. A pinch of salt in a fave recipe.
Let these next few days be an exercise in returning to simple tools.
When you feel jumbled, return to simple. First up – take a slow deep breath along with a longer exhale. Then allow yourself one simple feel-good. Maybe you are a tub-soaker. Maybe you tidy up the junk drawer. Maybe you sit and stare out the window for five minutes.
No screens. No devices. No phone-a-friend. Just a few minutes of you tending to you.
I promise you - simple works.
Much love.
In service to Spirit.
